With unwavering dedication to preserving the sanctity of Canterbury Cathedral, the Lawyers Arts Club consisting of legal professionals and passionate artists that took the lead in organising a gospel event. This proactive response was motivated by concerns over actions taken by the Church of England that seemed to compromise the integrity of this UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Recently an exciting protest unfolded as TikTok influencer Osaze Aigbe, also known as @OzyMusic, held gospel, praise and worship performances outside the grounds of the cathedral. Simultaneously, a disco inside the featuring artists like Eminem caused apprehension further strengthening the resolve of the Lawyers Arts Club.

Alexanders Vision; Safeguarding Culture Beyond Artistry

As Alexander Mahrra assumed his position as Director of the Lawyers Arts Club his vision extended beyond expression to safeguarding cultural and spiritual heritage. The event aimed to initiate discussions about decisions that impact both culture and faith at their intersection. Mahrra, one of its founding members requested dialogue with the Archbishop of Canterbury to explore implications associated with hosting events that conflict, with the nature of such a cathedral.

Councillor Paris Theodorou, a member of the Lawyers Arts Club raised a question; "How can we expect people to have respect, for Christians when our own church leaders show disrespect towards Gods sanctuary?" This query has fuelled the Lawyers Arts Clubs desire to engage in a discussion with the Church of England about future events taking place at Canterbury Cathedral.

Expressing his concerns as a Christian, Ozy Music has noticed an agenda that undermines Christianity. He said, "The cathedral, being a space should resound with hymns and worship music."

"The Lawyers Arts Club is urgently calling for the preservation of spaces and expressing concern about activities in churches that deviate from teachings found in the Holy Bible. They emphasize the importance of upholding and showing reverence for these teachings while urging reconsideration of decisions that could compromise the sanctity of these revered places.

The Lawyers Arts Club invites the media and local authorities to engage in a dialogue, with the Church of England. This recent event aims to promote unity and understanding by bridging perspectives and fostering cultural well as spiritual harmony.
